Description
The heart in the ancient world is the center of human thought and spiritual life. We tend to think that the heart refers mainly to our emotions, but in ancient cultures, it also refers to one’s mind and thoughts as well. This is why the bible tells us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” Deut 6:5 and to write God’s commandments on our hearts (Deut 6:6).
When we sin we lose our heart which makes up who we are. We choose to give our hear to sin rather than to God and as a result, our hearts are broken. God promises not only to mend our broken hearts but he says: “I will give you a new heart” (Ez 36:26) He is always willing to start a new start with us if we are willing.
This album expresses the desire for a new heart in every new beginning in our lives, the start of the year, the start of the day. It further expresses the feeling of gratitude for Gods free gift and forgiveness.
Asaph Tunes works with many talented Orthodox young artists to produce quality music and present it to listeners at the different media available. We are proud to produce Kero’s second album and look forward to future projects.
“If you have sinned, acknowledge the sin and repent. God will forgive the sin and once again give you a new heart…and a new spirit (Ez. 36:26). There is no other way: Either do not sin or repent.” – St. Theophan the Recluse
