Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life

Jesus bore the stripes of pain
So that forgiveness of sins we can gain
But hope still doesn’t fade away
“Our Saviour is powerful” the people pray

On the Sunday, very early morning
Without any signal or warning
As the guards slumber in their sleep
A strong movement awoke them so they leap

There was a powerful and moving sound
That trembled and shook the ground
The stone was rolled away from the empty tomb
Declaring the rebirth from this gloom

His luminous light filled the land
His resurrection is so grand
He opened the gates of paradise
Because with His love He paid the price

Resurrection is my happy song
With His mighty power, He defeated all wrong
Jesus is the resurrection and the life
I’ve seen your mercy and love’s rife

We celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection
Which gave our lives meaning and direction
We received Christ in our heart
Sin’s gap can no longer take us apart
